Capacity Development
Our work in Malawi and other African Countries over the past 24 years and continuing, helps to strengthen key organizational capabilities of NGOs, government departments, donors, and companies so that they provide more effective services and make strong partners. We also strive to build the individual capacities of NGO, government and company leaders engaged in managing partnership development and organizational change.
Featured Projects
Salephera has the unique experience of working with the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) which provides over 40% of all health services in Malawi and works in partnership with the Ministry of Health. We have worked with CHAM in conducting a “Mandate Review,” developing its first strategic plan, and conducting a “Functional Review of the CHAM secretariat and its 169 member units.
We have also worked with the Ministry of Health and its partners, notably UNICEF in the improvement of the Essential Health Package (EHP). Specifically, we identified and collected electronic and hard copies of all available resource materials and literature pertaining to each of the 8 components of the EHP. We produced an electronic catalog and an interactive CD for use at community, health center, and district hospital, and referral hospital levels.
In a consortium with EPOS Health Management of Germany, Salephera Consulting implemented a 2-year Financial Management Coaching contract supporting the Ministry of Health to improve its financial management in all its 34 cost centers (all District and Central Hospitals) throughout Malawi.
