From November 2022 to December 2023, our client, the Global Fund and Ministry of Health in Malawi, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Technical Support Services, engaged in a nationwide project aimed at providing Project Management technical services. This comprehensive initiative covered various aspects of the healthcare sector, including physical assets management, health information and systems management, health infrastructure, health equipment and devices, pharmaceuticals, and supply chain optimization. To achieve its objectives, the project employed a multifaceted approach, utilizing quantitative and qualitative research methods, stakeholder engagement and coordination, report writing for documentation, workshop organization and facilitation, field visits, and international study tours.

The Ministry of Health in Malawi, specifically the Blantyre District Health Office, initiated a project in January 2021 aimed at improving health services quality in 22 health facilities across the Blantyre district. This ongoing initiative, set to continue until December 2026, involves both public and private health facilities. The project employs a comprehensive approach that includes quality improvement baseline assessments, quality improvement training, and regular quarterly Quality Improvement lesson sessions and workshops to enhance healthcare services in the region.

In 2011, the Office of the President and Cabinet, in collaboration with the World Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), conducted an institutional review of the Department of HIV & AIDS (DNHA) in Malawi. This assessment took place in both Lilongwe and Blantyre and involved 50 key informant interviews with government representatives, donors, and civil society officials. The objective was to comprehensively evaluate the operations and effectiveness of DNHA in addressing the HIV and AIDS crisis in Malawi.
