From October 2022 to February 2023, VillageReach, based in the USA, conducted a gender analysis of Malawi's public health supply chain workforce. The study involved 28 supply chain practitioners within the Malawian health sector. The research methodology employed quantitative data collection through customized tools specifically designed for experts in the procurement, storage, distribution, and prescription of medical supplies and equipment at the national, district, and health facility levels. The data was gathered through Key Informant Interviews (KII), recorded, transcribed, and interpreted, with the findings subsequently used for report writing.

These studies encompassed a national stakeholder consultation in Lilongwe, involving key participants from donors, government officials, and civil society organizations. The research methodology for these studies included 150 key informant interviews and 5 focus group discussions, all aimed at addressing gender equity and women's empowerment in Malawi.

From January to April 2018, UNICEF Malawi conducted an Evaluative Baseline Assessment for their Maternal and Neonatal Health Programme in eight high-priority districts within Malawi. The assessment encompassed a comprehensive scale, involving 1,700 household interviews, data collection from 40 health centers, 50 Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and 70 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) across the designated districts. This initiative aimed to gather valuable insights and information to support and improve the region's maternal and neonatal health services.
